شيع الوسط الفني في مصر جنازة الفنان أحمد جلال عبدالقوي من مسجد الحصري بالسادس من أكتوبر، بحضور عدد من المقربين، منهم الفنان مدحت تيخا، والمخرج الممثل سامح بسيوني، والمخرج عمرو عابدين.
والده لا يعلم بالوفاة
وأكد الصديق المقرب للراحل الفنان مصطفى سليمان أن والد أحمد لا يعلم بوفاته حتى الآن.
وقال خلال مداخلة تلفزيونية: «أسرة الفنان الراحل كانت في حالة انهيار شديد لحظة الدفن، كما حرصت الأسرة على إخفاء الخبر عن والده السيناريست محمد جلال عبدالقوي خوفاً عليه من الصدمة نظراً لحالته الصحية المتدهورة»، مشيراً إلى أن أحمد كان شخصاً حساساً ولم يكن يحب أن يحمّل أسرته همومه وأوجاعه. وأضاف: «كان يخفي تعبه عن الناس، لأنه كان خائفاً عليهم ولم يرد أن يراهم موجوعين بسببه».
كواليس الدفن
وروى سليمان كواليس دفن أحمد، مشيراً إلى أن والدته ظلت تحدثه أثناء الدفن وقالت له: «راضية عنك دنيا وآخرة».
وأكد أن الراحل تعالج من الإدمان ولكن ليس بسبب المخدرات، وقال: «أحمد عانى من مشكلة في العمود الفقري وخضع لجراحة صعبة تطلبت تعاطي مسكنات قوية».
وأضاف: «اعتاد أحمد على تعاطي المسكنات القوية لعلاج الألم الشديد، إلا أن الأمر وصل إلى حد الإدمان في مرحلة ما»، مؤكداً أنه لجأ للعلاج من الإدمان خلال هذه الفترة لهذا السبب.

His father is unaware of the death
Close friend of the late artist, Mustafa Suleiman, confirmed that Ahmed's father is still unaware of his death.
He said during a television interview: "The family of the late artist was in a state of severe collapse at the moment of burial, and the family was keen to hide the news from his father, screenwriter Mohamed Jalal Abdel Qawi, fearing for him from the shock due to his deteriorating health condition," pointing out that Ahmed was a sensitive person and did not like to burden his family with his worries and pains. He added: "He used to hide his suffering from people because he was afraid for them and did not want to see them in pain because of him."
Behind the scenes of the burial
Suleiman narrated the behind-the-scenes of Ahmed's burial, indicating that his mother kept talking to him during the burial and said to him: "I am satisfied with you in this world and the hereafter."
He confirmed that the late artist had treated his addiction, but not due to drugs, saying: "Ahmed suffered from a problem in his spine and underwent a difficult surgery that required the use of strong painkillers."
He added: "Ahmed became accustomed to taking strong painkillers to treat severe pain, but at one point it reached the level of addiction," confirming that he sought treatment for addiction during this period for this reason.
