أطلقت رئيسة المفوضية الأوروبية أورسولا فون دير لاين، هجوماً لاذعاً على روبوت الدردشة غروك (Grok) التابع لشركة xAI الخاصة بإيلون ماسك، معربة عن صدمتها الشديدة واستيائها العميق من قدرته على إنشاء صور جنسية و«تجريد» رقمي لنساء وقاصرات دون موافقتهن، معتبرة الأمر «سلوكاً غير مقبول على الإطلاق» وانتهاكاً خطيراً لحقوق الخصوصية وحماية الأطفال.

وجاءت تصريحات فون دير لاين في مقابلة مع عدة وسائل إعلام أوروبية إذ وصفت انتشار هذه الـdeepfakes الجنسية بأنه «ضار جداً وواقعي»، مؤكدة أن «أوروبا لن تُعهد بحماية الأطفال والموافقة إلى وادي السيليكون»، مضيفة تحذيراً صريحاً: «إذا لم يتحركوا، فسنتحرك نحن».

وقالت المسؤولة الأوروبية إن هذا «سلوك لا يمكن تصوره، إن الضرر الذي تسببه التزييفات العميقة حقيقي للغاية»، مطالبة منصة شركة «إكس» الأمريكية (الذي طوّرته) بمعالجة هذا «الوضع المروع».

ومنذ بداية يناير 2026، شهدت منصة «إكس» موجة كبيرة من التقارير عن استخدام ميزة توليد الصور في «غروك» لإنشاء صور معدلة لآلاف النساء والمراهقات بما في ذلك شخصيات عامة، إذ يقوم المستخدمون بتحميل صورة عادية ويطلبون من الروبوت «تجريدها» من الملابس أو وضعها في ملابس داخلية وأوضاع جنسية.

وأدت هذه الثغرة إلى فتح تحقيقات عاجلة من هيئة تنظيم الاتصالات البريطانية، وإصدار المفوضية الأوروبية أمراً بالاحتفاظ بكافة الوثائق والمعلومات الداخلية المتعلقة بـ«غروك» حتى نهاية 2026، وانتقادات دولية واسعة وإجراءات حظر جزئي في بعض الدول الآسيوية مثل ماليزيا، تزامن مع تصاعد الضغط على إيلون ماسك شخصياً، مع اتهامات بـ«الفشل في وضع حواجز حماية كافية».

وردت xAI بتقييد ميزة توليد الصور للاشتراكات المدفوعة فقط، وأكدت حذف المحتوى غير القانوني وحظر الحسابات المخالفة، لكن ذلك لم يهدئ الغضب الأوروبي.

وأعلنت لجنة الاتصالات والوسائط المتعددة الماليزية، في بيان صادر عنها في 3 يناير الجاري، أنها ستستدعي إدارة شركة «إكس» للتحقيق، وستفتح تحقيقا بشأن الادعاءات التي تفيد بإساءة استخدام «غروك» لإنتاج محتوى فاحش أو جنسي.

وعلى خلفية الشكاوى المتعلقة بهذه الميزة، أعلنت إدارة شركة «إكس»، الجمعة، أن خاصية توليد الصور في روبوت الدردشة ستُتاح فقط للاشتراكات المدفوعة.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, launched a scathing attack on the chat robot Grok, owned by Elon Musk's company xAI, expressing her deep shock and profound discontent at its ability to create sexual images and digital "stripping" of women and minors without their consent, deeming it "completely unacceptable behavior" and a serious violation of privacy rights and child protection.

Von der Leyen's statements came in an interview with several European media outlets, where she described the spread of these sexual deepfakes as "extremely harmful and realistic," emphasizing that "Europe will not entrust the protection of children and consent to Silicon Valley," adding a clear warning: "If they do not act, we will act."

She stated that this is "unimaginable behavior, the harm caused by deepfakes is very real," calling on the platform of the American company "X" (which developed it) to address this "horrific situation."

Since the beginning of January 2026, the "X" platform has witnessed a significant wave of reports about the use of the image generation feature in "Grok" to create altered images of thousands of women and teenagers, including public figures, as users upload a regular image and ask the robot to "strip" it of clothing or place it in lingerie and sexual poses.

This loophole has led to urgent investigations by the UK communications regulator and the European Commission issuing an order to retain all documents and internal information related to "Grok" until the end of 2026, alongside widespread international criticism and partial bans in some Asian countries like Malaysia, coinciding with increasing pressure on Elon Musk personally, with accusations of "failing to put in place adequate protective barriers."

xAI responded by restricting the image generation feature to paid subscriptions only, and confirmed the deletion of illegal content and the banning of violating accounts, but this did not quell European anger.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission announced in a statement on January 3 that it would summon the management of "X" for investigation and would open an inquiry into allegations of the misuse of "Grok" to produce obscene or sexual content.

In light of the complaints regarding this feature, the management of "X" announced on Friday that the image generation feature in the chat robot would only be available for paid subscriptions.
