تنطلق يوم الجمعة القادم منافسات النسخة الثالثة من مهرجان خادم الحرمين الشريفين للهجن، الذي يستمر 10 أيام، ويقدم جوائز مالية تتجاوز 75 مليون ريال، ليصبح الحدث الرياضي رقم 65 في سجل الاتحاد السعودي للهجن، الجهة المسؤولة عن تنظيم ورعاية وتطوير رياضة سباقات الهجن في المملكة.
وُلد المهرجان عملاقاً في فبراير 2024، بمشاركة 2087 مالك هجن، و6869 مطية من 13 دولة، ليصبح ذروة التنافس ومصدر فخر للمجتمع المحلي بهويته وتراثه الأصيل.
ومنذ أن وضع رئيس الاتحاد السعودي للهجن الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد، حجر الأساس لإستراتيجية الاتحاد عام 2018، شهد قطاع الهجن طفرة غير مسبوقة، ومع تنظيم فعاليات كبرى مثل مهرجان ولي العهد للهجن، تحولت الصحراء إلى مسرح عالمي للسرعة والقوة، وارتفع عدد الأحداث بنسبة قياسية بلغت 300% بحلول 2026، مما يعكس النمو المتسارع الذي تشهده هذه الرياضة التراثية العريقة.
ويواصل اتحاد الهجن جهوده لتنظيم السباقات في مختلف مناطق المملكة، والمحافظة على هذا الموروث الحضاري الكبير، والارتقاء بالرياضة إلى معايير عالمية، إضافة إلى حوكمة السباقات، وتقديم الخدمات للميادين والملاك، وتوفير البيئة المثالية لممارسة هذه الرياضة.
وبدأت مسيرة الاتحاد بثلاث فعاليات كبرى، ثم نمت لتصبح 7 أحداث في الموسم الثالث، و11 حدثاً في 2022 و2023، وصولاً إلى 12 حدثاً في العامين الأخيرين، مما يعكس الاحترافية التنظيمية، والبيئة المتكاملة المقدمة للملاك والميادين وفق أعلى المعايير التنظيمية.
ويأتي مهرجان خادم الحرمين الشريفين للهجن تتويجاً لهذه الجهود، حاملاً أسمى الرعايات وأكبر الجوائز، في منافسة يسعى من خلالها الاتحاد إلى الارتقاء بهذا الموروث العربي الأصيل من مضامير الميدان إلى منصات العالمية.
ولا يُعد المهرجان مجرد سباق للمنافسة، بل محرك اقتصادي وثقافي فاعل، إذ تجاوزت القيمة السوقية للهجن المشاركة فيه حوالى ربع مليار ريال، في دلالة واضحة على نجاح رؤية المملكة 2030 في تحويل التراث الأصيل إلى صناعة رياضية واقتصادية رائدة، مما يعزز مكانة السعودية في الصدارة العالمية لسباقات الهجن.
The third edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival will kick off next Friday, lasting for 10 days and offering cash prizes exceeding 75 million riyals, making it the 65th sporting event in the record of the Saudi Camel Racing Federation, the body responsible for organizing, sponsoring, and developing camel racing in the Kingdom.
The festival was born grand in February 2024, with the participation of 2,087 camel owners and 6,869 camels from 13 countries, becoming the pinnacle of competition and a source of pride for the local community with its identity and authentic heritage.
Since the Saudi Camel Racing Federation President, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, laid the foundation stone for the federation's strategy in 2018, the camel sector has witnessed unprecedented growth. With the organization of major events such as the Crown Prince Camel Festival, the desert has transformed into a global stage for speed and strength, and the number of events has increased by a record 300% by 2026, reflecting the accelerating growth that this ancient heritage sport is experiencing.
The Camel Racing Federation continues its efforts to organize races in various regions of the Kingdom, preserve this great cultural heritage, and elevate the sport to international standards, in addition to governing the races, providing services to the fields and owners, and creating the ideal environment for practicing this sport.
The federation's journey began with three major events, then grew to 7 events in the third season, 11 events in 2022 and 2023, reaching 12 events in the last two years, reflecting the organizational professionalism and the integrated environment provided for owners and fields according to the highest organizational standards.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival is the culmination of these efforts, carrying the highest sponsorships and the largest prizes, in a competition through which the federation aims to elevate this authentic Arab heritage from the racetracks to global platforms.
The festival is not just a race for competition; it is an active economic and cultural driver, as the market value of the camels participating in it has exceeded approximately a quarter of a billion riyals, clearly indicating the success of Saudi Vision 2030 in transforming the authentic heritage into a leading sports and economic industry, enhancing Saudi Arabia's position at the forefront of global camel racing.
