لم تفلح النداءات المتكررة ولا الحوادث الدامية التي يشهدها الطريق السياحي الرابط بين الطائف – بني سعد – الباحة في دفع الجهات المعنية لإعادة النظر في مطلبين أساسيين ظل الأهالي يطالبون بهما منذ سنوات طويلة؛ يتمثلان في ازدواجية الطريق وإنشاء مركز للهلال الأحمر يباشر الحوادث فور وقوعها.

ورغم أن الطريق شهد خلال الأعوام الماضية، عدداً من الحوادث المروّعة، فإن الاستجابة ما زالت تنتظر التنفيذ، الأمر الذي يضطر الأهالي والدفاع المدني ومستشفى السحن للتدخل ونقل المصابين بسبب تأخر وصول فرق الهلال الأحمر القادمة من ميسان أو الطائف لبُعد المسافة.

ويؤكد السكان أن هذه المسافات الطويلة كثيراً ما تكون فارقة بين الحياة والموت، ويشير كل من محمد الربيعي وعلي النفيعي، إلى أن أقرب مركز للهلال الأحمر يبعد أكثر من 30 كيلومتراً عن مركز بني سعد، بينما تتجاوز المسافة ذلك بكثير بالنسبة للقرى الأخرى، ما يجعل مباشرة الحوادث تستغرق وقتاً طويلاً.

ويستذكر الأهالي حوادث مرورية عديدة بقي المصابون فيها ينتظرون وصول سيارات الإسعاف لفترات طويلة.

ويعبّر السكان عن استيائهم من عدم تنفيذ الوعود رغم أنهم تبرعوا سابقاً بمبنى مجهز بالكامل ليكون مقراً للهلال الأحمر، أملاً في تسريع اعتماد المركز.

وطالب أهالي جنوب الطائف الجهات المختصة بسرعة اعتماد مركز الهلال الأحمر على الطريق السياحي، وتقديم الخدمات الإسعافية اللازمة لسكان المنطقة وسالكي الطريق، مؤكدين أن الوضع الحالي لم يعد يحتمل المزيد من التأخير.

The repeated calls and the bloody incidents witnessed on the tourist road linking Taif – Bani Saad – Al-Baha have not succeeded in prompting the concerned authorities to reconsider two basic demands that the residents have been calling for for many years; these are the dualization of the road and the establishment of a Red Crescent center to respond to accidents as soon as they occur.

Although the road has witnessed a number of horrific accidents over the past years, the response is still awaiting implementation, which forces the residents, the civil defense, and Al-Sahn Hospital to intervene and transport the injured due to the delay in the arrival of the Red Crescent teams coming from Maysan or Taif because of the long distance.

The residents confirm that these long distances are often a decisive factor between life and death, and both Mohammed Al-Rubaie and Ali Al-Nufai highlight that the nearest Red Crescent center is more than 30 kilometers away from the center of Bani Saad, while the distance is much greater for other villages, making the response to accidents take a long time.

The residents recall numerous traffic accidents where the injured had to wait for long periods for ambulances to arrive.

The residents express their frustration over the unfulfilled promises, despite having previously donated a fully equipped building to serve as the headquarters for the Red Crescent, hoping to expedite the approval of the center.

The residents of southern Taif have urged the relevant authorities to quickly approve the Red Crescent center on the tourist road and provide the necessary emergency services for the area's residents and road users, emphasizing that the current situation can no longer tolerate further delays.
