شهدت محافظة جدة انطلاق فعاليات اليوم العالمي للمرشد السياحي، بمشاركة 281 مرشداً ومرشدة من مختلف مناطق المملكة. ركزت الفعاليات على تعريف المشاركين بمسار الحج التاريخي ومعالم جدة القديمة، وذلك بحضور ممثل الاتحاد الدولي لجمعيات المرشدين السياحيين في غرب آسيا والشرق الأوسط، المهندس خالد عبدالله خفاجي.

يهدف اليوم العالمي للمرشد السياحي، الذي أطلقه الاتحاد العالمي عام 1990، إلى إبراز دور المرشد بوصفه سفيراً لوطنه وثقافته، وتعزيز الوعي بأهمية الإرشاد السياحي في إثراء تجربة الزائر، إضافة إلى دعم مفاهيم التنمية السياحية المستدامة.

ويأتي الاحتفاء هذا العام متزامناً مع النهضة السياحية المتسارعة التي تشهدها المملكة ضمن رؤية 2030، حيث أصبح المرشد السياحي عنصراً محورياً في إبراز المواقع التاريخية والثقافية والطبيعية، ونقل قصص المكان بروح مهنية تعكس عمق الحضارة السعودية.

The Governorate of Jeddah witnessed the launch of the World Tourism Guide Day activities, with the participation of 281 male and female guides from various regions of the Kingdom. The events focused on introducing participants to the historical Hajj route and the ancient landmarks of Jeddah, with the presence of the representative of the International Federation of Tourist Guides Associations in West Asia and the Middle East, Engineer Khalid Abdullah Khafaji.

The World Tourism Guide Day, launched by the World Federation in 1990, aims to highlight the role of the guide as an ambassador for their country and culture, and to enhance awareness of the importance of tourist guidance in enriching the visitor's experience, in addition to supporting the concepts of sustainable tourism development.

This year's celebration coincides with the rapid tourism renaissance that the Kingdom is experiencing as part of Vision 2030, where the tourist guide has become a pivotal element in showcasing historical, cultural, and natural sites, and conveying the stories of the place with a professional spirit that reflects the depth of Saudi civilization.
