شنت رئيسة المفوضية الأوروبية أورسولا فون دير لايين، هجوماً حاداً على إيران. وقالت في تصريحات، اليوم (الإثنين) من بروكسل خلال اجتماع أوروبي إن «إيران دمرت المنطقة بصواريخها ومسيّراتها». وأضافت أن «شركاء الاتحاد في منطقة الخليج يتعرضون لاعتداءات إيرانية عشوائية».

وحذرت أورسولا من أن اتساع الحرب سيقود إلى عواقب وخيمة على جميع الأصعدة.

فيما اعتبرت مسؤولة السياسة الخارجية للاتحاد الأوروبي كايا كالاس، أن «النظام الإيراني بات أضعف»، لكنها أوضحت ألا مسار واضحاً لإنهاء الحرب حالياً. وحذرت من أن الشرق الأوسط وأوروبا معرضان لخسائر فادحة إذا طالت الحرب.

وكانت إيران قد اتهمت في وقت سابق اليوم الدول الأوروبية بالمساهمة في تهيئة الظروف المواتية للهجمات الأمريكية الإسرائيلية عليها.

وقال المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي خلال مؤتمر صحفي أسبوعي: «ساهمت الدول الأوروبية في تهيئة هذه الظروف» في إشارة إلى الحرب.

وأضاف أنه «بدلاً من التمسك بسيادة القانون، وعوض معارضة الترهيب والتجاوزات الأمريكية، تجرأت هذه الدول على التعبير عن موافقتها عليها أمام مجلس الأمن الدولي خلال مناقشة إعادة فرض العقوبات، ما شجّع الطرفين الأمريكي والإسرائيلي على مواصلة ارتكاب جرائمهما».

وكانت أبرز الدول الأوروبية قد انتقدت حتى قبل الحرب «السلوك الإيراني»، وحذرت من تمسك طهران بتخصيب اليورانيوم، بينما كانت المفاوضات تجري بين الوفدين الإيراني والأمريكي عبر الوسيط العماني. قبل أن تتفجر الحرب يوم 28 فبراير الماضي بينما كان يرتقب أن تعقد جولة أخرى من محادثات النووي في فيينا.

وشنت إسرائيل وأمريكا غارات موسعة على العاصمة طهران أدت إلى مقتل المرشد علي خامئني وعشرات القادة الإيرانيين أيضاً.

وردّت إيران عبر إطلاق مئات الصواريخ والمسيّرات نحو إسرائيل وعدد من الدول الخليجية. وأظهرت إحصاءات حديثة أنها أطلقت نحو 3000 صاروخ ومسيّر نحو الدول الخليجية.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, launched a sharp attack on Iran. She stated in remarks today (Monday) from Brussels during a European meeting that "Iran has destroyed the region with its missiles and drones." She added that "the Union's partners in the Gulf region are facing random Iranian attacks."

Ursula warned that the expansion of the war would lead to dire consequences on all fronts.

Meanwhile, the EU's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, considered that "the Iranian regime has become weaker," but she clarified that there is currently no clear path to end the war. She warned that the Middle East and Europe are at risk of heavy losses if the war continues.

Earlier today, Iran accused European countries of contributing to the conditions that facilitate American and Israeli attacks against it.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baqaei said during a weekly press conference: "European countries contributed to creating these conditions," referring to the war.

He added that "instead of adhering to the rule of law, and instead of opposing American intimidation and violations, these countries dared to express their approval of it before the United Nations Security Council during discussions on re-imposing sanctions, which encouraged both the American and Israeli sides to continue committing their crimes."

Prominent European countries had criticized "Iranian behavior" even before the war and warned against Tehran's insistence on uranium enrichment, while negotiations were taking place between the Iranian and American delegations through the Omani mediator. This was before the war erupted on February 28, while another round of nuclear talks was expected to be held in Vienna.

Israel and the U.S. launched extensive airstrikes on the capital Tehran, resulting in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and dozens of Iranian leaders as well.

In response, Iran launched hundreds of missiles and drones towards Israel and several Gulf countries. Recent statistics showed that it fired about 3,000 missiles and drones towards the Gulf states.
