أعلن وزير الخارجية الأمريكي ماركو روبيو، اليوم (الإثنين)، أن بلاده لن تسمح لإيران بتحديد من يمر عبر الممرات المائية الدولية.
وقال روبيو في مقابلة على شبكة (أي بي سي نيوز): «يهدد الإيرانيون بإنشاء نظام دائم في مضيق هرمز، ليقرروا من يمر عبر الممرات المائية الدولية، لن يُسمح بحدوث ذلك أبداً»، مطالباً بقية دول العالم أن تتنبه لذلك، خصوصاً أن لديهم ما يخسرونه أكثر من الولايات المتحدة.
خيارات ترمب
وأوضح روبيو أن الولايات المتحدة تحصل على نسبة ضئيلة جداً من طاقتها عبر مضيق هرمز، بينما يعتمد باقي العالم عليه بدرجة أكبر بكثير.
وأكد روبيو أن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب لديه عدة خيارات تحت تصرفه، قائلاً: وزارة الحرب تُعد له بدائل وخيارات مختلفة لهذا السيناريو ولغيره من الاحتمالات التي قد تطرأ، وهذا ما يجب دائماً القيام به في مثل هذه الظروف.
أشخاص إيرانيون جدد
وأشار إلى وجود أشخاص جدد في السلطة الحالية الإيرانية لديهم رؤية أكثر منطقية للمستقبل، مؤكداً على ضرورة أن تكون واشنطن مستعدة لفشل مسار المحادثات مع الإيرانيين.
وأشار وزير الخارجية الأمريكي إلى أن الشعب الأمريكي عليه معرفة أن «جوهر المهمة يتمثل في تدمير سلاح إيران الجوي، وتدمير بحريتهم، وقد تحقق ذلك إلى حد كبير أيضاً، وتدمير مصانع الأسلحة التي ينتجون فيها هذه المعدات، ونحن في طريقنا لتحقيق ذلك، إضافة إلى خفض كبير في عدد منصات إطلاق الصواريخ لديهم، بحيث لا يعود بإمكانهم تهديد جيرانهم في المستقبل»، موضحاً أن جميع هذه الأهداف يتم تحقيقها وفق الجدول الزمني المحدد لها.
مسار دبلوماسي
ولفت إلى أن بعض الأهداف تم تحقيقها قبل الموعد المحدد لها، متوقعاً إنجاز باقي الأهداف خلال الأسابيع القادمة.
وأشار إلى أن ترمب يفضّل مسار الدبلوماسية دائماً على الرغم من أن هذه الجهود مع الإيرانيين ما زالت في مراحلها الأولى، مؤكداً وجود رسائل يتم تبادلها عبر وسطاء خلال المحادثات الجارية.
وفي ما يتعلق بهوية الجهة التي تتواصل معها الولايات المتحدة في إيران، رفض روبيو الكشف عن هوياتها، معتبراً أن ذلك قد يوقعها في مشاكل مع بعض الجماعات الأخرى داخل إيران.
وشدد بالقول: «إذا كان هناك أشخاص جدد في السلطة الآن لديهم رؤية أكثر منطقية للمستقبل، فسيكون ذلك نبأً ساراً لنا ولهم وللعالم أجمع، ولكن علينا أيضاً أن نكون مستعدين لاحتمال فشل هذه الجهود؛ لأننا نتعامل مع نظام قائم منذ 47 عاماً، ولا يزال يضم الكثير من الأشخاص الذين لا يؤمنون بالدبلوماسية أو السلام».
وفي ما يتعلق بتوجه إيران لتغيير النظام قال روبيو: «في نهاية المطاف، علينا أن نرى ما إذا كان هؤلاء الأشخاص هم من سيتولون زمام الأمور، وأن نرى ما إذا كانوا هم من يملكون القدرة على تحقيق الإنجازات».
وأضاف: «هناك أشخاص يقولون بعض الأشياء الصحيحة على انفراد»، مشيراً إلى أنهم سيعملون على اختبار ذلك، وأعرب عن أمله أن يكون الأمر كذلك.
أهداف الحرب
وشدد بالقول: «من الواضح أن هناك أشخاصاً في الوقت الحالي يتحدثون إلينا بطرق لم يتحدث بها المسؤولون السابقون في إيران».
ولفت إلى أن «الحرب تدور حول أهداف محددة للغاية، وقد عرضها الرئيس في الليلة الأولى من العملية، وسأكررها الآن لأنني أسمع كثيراً من الحديث عن غياب وضوح الأهداف ومنها تدمير سلاح إيران الجوي وبحريتهم وتقليص قدراتهم على إطلاق الصواريخ بشكل كبير، وتدمير مصانعهم حتى لا يتمكنوا من إنتاج المزيد من الصواريخ والطائرات المسيّرة في المستقبل».
ولفت إلى أن الهدف ضمان ألا يتمكنوا من استخدام هذه القدرات كغطاء للحصول على سلاح نووي.

Trump's Options
Rubio clarified that the United States receives a very small percentage of its energy through the Strait of Hormuz, while the rest of the world relies on it to a much greater extent.
He affirmed that President Donald Trump has several options at his disposal, saying: The Department of Defense is preparing various alternatives and options for this scenario and other potential situations that may arise, and this is what should always be done in such circumstances.
New Iranian Figures
He pointed out that there are new figures in the current Iranian authority who have a more rational vision for the future, emphasizing the need for Washington to be prepared for the failure of talks with the Iranians.
The U.S. Secretary of State noted that the American people should know that "the essence of the mission is to destroy Iran's air weapon, to destroy their navy, which has largely been achieved as well, and to destroy the factories where they produce this equipment. we are on track to achieve this, in addition to a significant reduction in the number of their missile launch platforms, so they can no longer threaten their neighbors in the future," explaining that all these goals are being achieved according to the specified timeline.
Diplomatic Path
He noted that some goals have been achieved ahead of schedule, expecting the completion of the remaining goals in the coming weeks.
He mentioned that Trump always prefers a diplomatic path, even though these efforts with the Iranians are still in their early stages, affirming that messages are being exchanged through intermediaries during the ongoing talks.
Regarding the identity of the party the United States is communicating with in Iran, Rubio refused to disclose their identities, considering that this could lead to problems with some other groups within Iran.
He emphasized: "If there are new people in power now who have a more rational vision for the future, that would be good news for us, for them, and for the whole world, but we also have to be prepared for the possibility of these efforts failing; because we are dealing with a regime that has been in place for 47 years, and still includes many people who do not believe in diplomacy or peace."
Regarding Iran's inclination to change the regime, Rubio said: "Ultimately, we have to see if these people are the ones who will take over, and see if they have the ability to achieve results."
He added: "There are people who say some of the right things privately," indicating that they will work to test that, expressing hope that it will be the case.
War Objectives
He stressed: "It is clear that there are people currently talking to us in ways that previous officials in Iran did not."
He pointed out that "the war revolves around very specific objectives, which the president outlined on the first night of the operation, and I will repeat them now because I hear a lot of talk about the lack of clarity of objectives, including the destruction of Iran's air weapon and their navy, significantly reducing their missile launch capabilities, and destroying their factories so they cannot produce more missiles and drones in the future."
He noted that the goal is to ensure that they cannot use these capabilities as a cover to obtain nuclear weapons.
