تصدّرت مدينة الرياض قائمة المدن السعودية في مؤشر المدن الذكية الصادر عن المعهد الدولي للتنمية الإدارية (IMD) لعام 2026، بحلولها في المرتبة 24 عالميًا، لتؤكد موقعها كأحد أبرز مراكز التحول الرقمي والبنية التحتية الذكية في المنطقة، مدفوعة بتكامل الخدمات الحكومية الرقمية وتوسع مشاريع المدن الذكية.
وجاءت مدينة حائل في المرتبة الثانية سعوديًا، محتلة المركز 33 عالميًا، في دلالة واضحة على تسارع وتيرة التطور التقني والخدمي خارج المدن الكبرى، حيث برزت في مؤشرات التعليم والخدمات الرقمية وجودة الحياة، ما يعكس نجاح نماذج التنمية المتوازنة على مستوى المناطق.
وشملت القائمة أيضًا مكة المكرمة (50)، جدة (55)، الخبر (64)، المدينة المنورة (67)، العلا (85)، وحفر الباطن (100)، ما يعزز حضور المملكة بثماني مدن ضمن التصنيف العالمي.
ويستند مؤشر IMD إلى تقييم شامل يجمع بين البنية التحتية والتقنيات الرقمية، مع قياس مستوى رضا السكان عن جودة الخدمات، وهو ما يعكس فعالية الاستثمارات الحكومية في التحول الرقمي بقيادة «سدايا»، وتكاملها مع مستهدفات رؤية السعودية 2030.

The city of Hail came in second place in Saudi Arabia, occupying the 33rd position globally, clearly indicating the accelerating pace of technological and service development outside major cities, as it excelled in indicators of education, digital services, and quality of life, reflecting the success of balanced development models at the regional level.
The list also included Mecca (50), Jeddah (55), Khobar (64), Medina (67), AlUla (85), and Hafr Al-Batin (100), enhancing the Kingdom's presence with eight cities in the global ranking.
The IMD index is based on a comprehensive evaluation that combines infrastructure and digital technologies, measuring the level of residents' satisfaction with the quality of services, which reflects the effectiveness of government investments in digital transformation led by "SDAIA," and its integration with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
This ranking confirms that the urban landscape in the Kingdom is undergoing a qualitative transformation, led by Riyadh as a main hub, followed by Hail as an advanced model for regional cities that translate technology into tangible quality of life.
