فرضت وزارة الخزانة الأمريكية اليوم (الخميس)، عقوبات جديدة على شخصيات وشركات مرتبطة بإيران وحلفائها، بينهم نائب وزير النفط العراقي علي معارج البهادلي.
وأكدت الوزارة في بيان على موقعها الإلكتروني، أن هذه العقوبات ضمن حملة «الضغط الأقصى» التي تستهدف شبكات تهريب النفط وتمويل الجماعات المسلحة الموالية لطهران، بينهم جماعة عصائب أهل الحق وكتائب سيد الشهداء، إضافة إلى شركات عراقية تعمل في قطاع النفط وتتبع شخصيات مرتبطة بحلفاء إيران.
واتهمت واشنطن نائب وزير النفط العراقي علي معارج البهادلي، باستغلال منصبه لتسهيل تحويل النفط العراقي لصالح النظام الإيراني وحلفائه، عبر عمليات تهريب وتزوير وثائق منشأ النفط.
وقال وزير الخزانة الأمريكي سكوت بيسنت «إن النظام الإيراني ينهب موارد الشعب العراقي لتمويل الإرهاب»، مؤكداً أن واشنطن لن تسمح باستخدام النفط العراقي لدعم الهجمات ضد الولايات المتحدة وشركائها.
واتهمت الوزارة البهادلي بالتعاون مع شبكة تهريب يديرها سالم أحمد سعيد، سبق أن فرضت عليه عقوبات أمريكية، حيث كانت تُخلط شحنات النفط الإيراني بالنفط العراقي ثم تُصدر بوثائق مزورة باعتبارها نفطاً عراقياً، مبينة أن القيادي في عصائب أهل الحق مصطفى هاشم لازم البهادلي، المعروف باسم «سيد عون»، لعب دوراً رئيسياً في تمويل عمليات تهريب النفط وإدارة أنشطة اقتصادية لصالح الجماعة المسلحة بالتنسيق مع الحرس الثوري الإيراني.
واتهمت واشنطن مسؤولين في كتائب سيد الشهداء بالتنسيق مع حزب الله لشراء ونقل أسلحة إلى العراق، ودفع ملايين الدولارات لتسهيل عمليات التسليح، مؤكدة أن العقوبات تشمل تجميد الأصول داخل الولايات المتحدة وحظر التعاملات المالية مع الأفراد والكيانات المستهدفة، مع التهديد بفرض عقوبات ثانوية على المؤسسات المالية الأجنبية التي تسهل هذه الأنشطة.
The U.S. Treasury Department today (Thursday) imposed new sanctions on individuals and companies linked to Iran and its allies, including Iraqi Deputy Minister of Oil Ali Maraj al-Bahadli.
The department confirmed in a statement on its website that these sanctions are part of the "maximum pressure" campaign targeting oil smuggling networks and financing armed groups loyal to Tehran, including the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq and the Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada, in addition to Iraqi companies operating in the oil sector that are associated with individuals linked to Iran's allies.
Washington accused Iraqi Deputy Minister of Oil Ali Maraj al-Bahadli of exploiting his position to facilitate the transfer of Iraqi oil for the benefit of the Iranian regime and its allies, through smuggling operations and falsifying oil origin documents.
U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott P. Smith stated, "The Iranian regime is plundering the resources of the Iraqi people to finance terrorism," emphasizing that Washington will not allow Iraqi oil to be used to support attacks against the United States and its partners.
The department accused al-Bahadli of collaborating with a smuggling network run by Salem Ahmed Said, who has previously been subjected to U.S. sanctions, where Iranian oil shipments were mixed with Iraqi oil and then exported with forged documents as if they were Iraqi oil. It noted that the leader of Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, Mustafa Hashim Lazim al-Bahadli, known as "Sayyid Aoun," played a key role in financing oil smuggling operations and managing economic activities for the armed group in coordination with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Washington accused officials in Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada of coordinating with Hezbollah to purchase and transport weapons to Iraq, and of paying millions of dollars to facilitate arms procurement, confirming that the sanctions include freezing assets within the United States and banning financial transactions with the targeted individuals and entities, with the threat of imposing secondary sanctions on foreign financial institutions that facilitate these activities.
