لوحت إيران بالرد، بعد تبادل إطلاق النار مع الولايات المتحدة. وحذر المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي، اليوم (الجمعة)، من رد بلاده على طريقتها، مستشهداً ببيت شعري شهير للمتنبي. وكتب في منشور على حسابه في إكس: «إذا رأيتَ نيوبَ اللَّيثِ بارزةً فلا تَظُنَّنَّ أنَّ اللَّيثَ يبتسمُ».

فيما أكدت باكستان استمرار التواصل والتنسيق بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران. وأوضح وزير الخارجية الباكستاني إسحق دار في بيان أنه تواصل مع نظيره الإيراني عباس عراقجي بغية تسهيل نقل 20 بحارا إيرانيا إلى بلدهم، كانوا على متن سفينة إيرانية استولت عليها الأسبوع الماضي القوات الأمريكية، إلا أنه لم يتطرق إلى تبادل إطلاق النار الذي جرى مساء أمس بين الجانبين الأمريكي والإيراني.

وكانت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية (سنتكوم)، أعلنت أن القوات الإيرانية أطلقت صواريخ ومسيّرات وقوارب صغيرة على 3 سفن حربية أمريكية، لكنها لم تصب أيا منها، مضيفة أن القوات الأمريكية قضت على التهديدات واستهدفت منشآت عسكرية إيرانية مسؤولة عن الهجوم. لكنها أكدت أنها لا تسعى إلى التصعيد، لكنها تبقى متمركزة ومستعدة لحماية القوات الأمريكية.

من جهتها، اتهمت القوات الإيرانية الولايات المتحدة بانتهاك اتفاق وقف إطلاق النار عبر مهاجمة سفينتين في مضيق هرمز وشنّ ضربات على «مناطق مدنية» في جنوب البلاد، مؤكدة أنها ردّت عليها باستهداف سفن عسكرية أمريكية.

وكان الرئيس دونالد ترمب أكد للصحفيين مساء الأربعاء أن الجانب الأمريكي «أجرى محادثات جيدة جدا خلال الـ24 الساعة الماضية»، مرجحاً التوصل إلى اتفاق سريعاً، إلا أنه كرر تهديده باستئناف القصف إذا رفضت طهران الامتثال لمطالب واشنطن.

يذكر أنه قبل تبادل إطلاق النار بين القوات الأمريكية والإيرانية ليل أمس، أبدى رئيس الوزراء الباكستاني شهباز شريف نبرة متفائلة، معتبراً أن «الهدنة الحالية بين البلدين ستتحول إلى وقف إطلاق نار طويل الأمد».

Iran has threatened to respond after a shooting exchange with the United States. The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baqaei, warned today (Friday) of his country's response in its own way, citing a famous verse by Al-Mutanabbi. He wrote in a post on his X account: "If you see the lion's fangs bared, do not think that the lion is smiling."

Meanwhile, Pakistan confirmed the ongoing communication and coordination between the United States and Iran. Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar stated in a statement that he had contacted his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araqchi, to facilitate the transfer of 20 Iranian sailors to their country, who were on an Iranian ship seized by U.S. forces last week. However, he did not mention the shooting exchange that took place last night between the American and Iranian sides.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that Iranian forces fired missiles, drones, and small boats at three U.S. warships, but did not hit any of them. It added that U.S. forces eliminated the threats and targeted Iranian military facilities responsible for the attack. However, it confirmed that it does not seek escalation but remains stationed and ready to protect U.S. forces.

For its part, Iranian forces accused the United States of violating the ceasefire agreement by attacking two ships in the Strait of Hormuz and launching strikes on "civilian areas" in the south of the country, asserting that they responded by targeting U.S. military ships.

President Donald Trump confirmed to reporters on Wednesday evening that the U.S. side "had very good talks over the past 24 hours," suggesting a quick agreement might be reached, but he reiterated his threat to resume bombing if Tehran refused to comply with Washington's demands.

It is noteworthy that before the shooting exchange between U.S. and Iranian forces last night, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif expressed an optimistic tone, considering that "the current truce between the two countries will turn into a long-term ceasefire."
