أعلن نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جي دي فانس اليوم (الثلاثاء)، أنه يمكن استئناف الحملة العسكرية ضد إيران في أي وقت، مبيناً أن حصول روسيا على يورانيوم إيران المخصب ليس ضمن خطط بلاده.
وقال دي فانس في كلمة للصحفيين: «لا أحد يريد عودة الحرب والفرصة متاحة أمام إيران»، مضيفاً: «نستطيع أن نستأنف الحملة العسكرية ضد إيران في أي وقت».
وأشار إلى أن الرئيس ترمب طلب منّا التفاوض بقوة مع الإيرانيين وعدم التنازل، لافتاً إلى أن بلاده لن تسمح لإيران بالحصول على سلاح نووي.
ولفت إلى أن إيران أمامها خياران إما الاتفاق أو استئناف الحرب، مشدداً بالقول: أوضحنا للإيرانيين خطوطنا الحمراء.
وأضاف: «إيران دولة معقدة جداً وقرارات قياداتها متضاربة»، موضحاً أن أمريكا تتفاوض مع إيران بنوايا حسنة وعليهم اغتنام الفرصة.
وشدد نائب الرئيس الأمريكي بالقول: «تلقينا أوراقاً كثيرة من الإيرانيين ولا نعرف ماذا يريديون بالضبط»، موضحاً أن القيادة السياسية في إيران تعاني انقساما شديداً.
وأضاف: «أعتقد أن الإيرانيين يريدون التوصل لاتفاق وطلباتنا واضحة»، مشيراً إلى أنهم لا يعرفون مدى رغبة إيران في إبرام صفقة حتى توقعها بالفعل.
وأضاف: «لا ثقة في إيران حتى توقع الصفقة»، موضحاً أن القيادة الإيرانية تعاني انقساماً شديداً.
وأكد دي فانس أن هناك فرصة لإعادة ضبط العلاقة القائمة بين إيران والولايات المتحدة منذ 47 عاماً.
وأضاف: لن نقبل باتفاق يسمح للإيرانيين بامتلاك سلاح نووي، وكما قال لي الرئيس للتو، نحن على أهبة الاستعداد الكاملة، نحن لا نريد المضي في هذا المسار، لكن الرئيس ترمب مستعد وقادر على السير فيه إذا اضطررنا إلى ذلك.
وأشار إلى أن الولايات المتحدة مستعدة لإبرام اتفاق، طالما أن الإيرانيين مستعدون للالتقاء معنا مجدداً بشأن تلك القضية الأساسية، وهي عدم امتلاك سلاح نووي أبداً، نعتقد أننا أحرزنا تقدماً كبيراً، ونعتقد أن الإيرانيين يريدون التوصل إلى اتفاق.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance announced today (Tuesday) that military action against Iran could be resumed at any time, stating that Russia obtaining enriched uranium from Iran is not part of his country's plans.
Vance said in a statement to reporters: “No one wants a return to war, and the opportunity is available for Iran,” adding: “we can resume military action against Iran at any time.”
He pointed out that President Trump asked us to negotiate firmly with the Iranians and not to concede, noting that his country will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.
He emphasized that Iran has two options: either to agree or to resume war, stressing: “We have made our red lines clear to the Iranians.”
He added: “Iran is a very complex country, and its leadership's decisions are contradictory,” explaining that America is negotiating with Iran with good intentions and they should seize the opportunity.
The U.S. Vice President stressed: “We have received many papers from the Iranians, and we do not know exactly what they want,” clarifying that the political leadership in Iran is suffering from severe division.
He added: “I believe the Iranians want to reach an agreement, and our demands are clear,” pointing out that they do not know how willing Iran is to finalize a deal until it actually signs it.
He added: “There is no trust in Iran until the deal is signed,” explaining that the Iranian leadership is experiencing significant division.
Vance confirmed that there is an opportunity to reset the relationship between Iran and the United States, which has existed for 47 years.
He added: “We will not accept an agreement that allows the Iranians to possess nuclear weapons, and as the President just told me, we are fully prepared. We do not want to go down this path, but President Trump is ready and able to pursue it if we are forced to do so.”
He noted that the United States is ready to reach an agreement, as long as the Iranians are willing to meet with us again on that fundamental issue, which is never to possess nuclear weapons. We believe we have made significant progress, and we believe the Iranians want to reach an agreement.
