وخلال وجودها برفقة صديقة لها داخل أحد المتاجر، كانت الشابة التركية «زينب أوموربيك» تقوم بتصوير مقاطع قصيرة أثناء التسوق، قبل أن يفاجئها رجل مسن بطرح أسئلة متكررة حول ملابسها، متسائلًا عمّا إذا كانت تشعر بالحر في فصل الصيف، وما إذا كانت ترتاد البحر وهي بملابس مشابهة.
ورغم طبيعة الأسئلة غير المريحة، تعاملت الشابة بهدوء وابتسامة مع الموقف، وردّت على استفساراته باقتضاب دون تصعيد، قبل أن تغادر المكان لاحقًا وتتوجه إلى الشرطة لتقديم بلاغ رسمي، حيث تمكنت السلطات من تحديد هوية الرجل وإيقافه.
وبحسب وسائل إعلام تركية، يواجه الرجل تهمة «التحريض على الكراهية والعداء وإهانة الرأي العام»، فيما قررت المحكمة المختصة فرض حظر سفر عليه وإخضاعه للإقامة الجبرية لحين استكمال الإجراءات القضائية.
من جانبها، نشرت أوموربيك مقطع الفيديو الذي وثّق الواقعة أثناء تسوقها في محافظة أنطاليا جنوب تركيا، ما أثار تفاعلًا واسعًا على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، حيث عبّر العديد من المتابعين عن دعمهم لها ومساندتهم في مواجهة ما اعتبروه تدخلًا غير مبرر في حياتها الشخصية.
In an incident that has brought back the ongoing debate about the limits of intervention in personal life within public spaces, a fleeting situation in a store in the Turkish city of Antalya ended with legal action against an elderly man after he commented on a young woman's clothing as she documented her shopping moment for her followers on social media.
While she was with a friend inside one of the stores, the young Turkish woman "Zeynep Umurbek" was filming short clips during her shopping when she was unexpectedly approached by an elderly man who repeatedly asked questions about her clothing, wondering if she felt hot in the summer and whether she went to the beach dressed similarly.
Despite the uncomfortable nature of the questions, the young woman handled the situation calmly and with a smile, responding to his inquiries briefly without escalating the situation, before leaving the place later and heading to the police to file an official report, where authorities were able to identify the man and detain him.
According to Turkish media, the man faces charges of "inciting hatred and hostility and insulting public opinion," while the competent court decided to impose a travel ban on him and subject him to house arrest until the judicial procedures are completed.
For her part, Umurbek posted the video that documented the incident while she was shopping in Antalya province in southern Turkey, which sparked widespread interaction on social media, where many followers expressed their support for her and solidarity in facing what they considered an unjustified intrusion into her personal life.
