كان منشور واحد على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي كفيلاً بفتح شهية اللصوص لسرقة شقة زوجة رئيس وزراء مصر السابق الراحل عاطف عبيد، في حي الدقي الراقي. لكن الصدمة الأكبر التي فجرتها تحقيقات النيابة، هي أن الجناة ليسوا غرباء، بل من أصدقاء العائلة المقربين!

بدأت القصة عندما قرر نجل زوجة المسؤول الراحل مشاركة لقطات من عطلته خارج البلاد مع أصدقائه على السوشيال ميديا، دون أن يدري أن هناك عيوناً تتربص به لترتيب ساعة الصفر.

استغل شابان «الستوري» والمنشورات التي أكدت وجود صديقهما خارج مصر بالكامل، ليتأكدا أن الشقة أصبحت خالية تماماً من أي رقابة. وفي عتمة الليل، وضع الصديقان خطتهما مستغلين معرفتهما السابقة بمدخل البناية:

• الأول: تسلل بهدوء عبر نافذة «منور» البناية حتى دخل الشقة، وتوجه مباشرة إلى غرفة النوم ليفتح الخزانة ويستولي على حقيبة بداخلها نصف مليون جنيه.
• الثاني: وقف في الأسفل يراقب الطريق لتأمين الهروب السريع.

وبعد انتهاء العملية، اعتقد اللصان أن خطتهما الرقمية نجحت، لكن الفرحة لم تدم طويلاً، ففور اكتشاف الواقعة، نجح قطاع الأمن المصري بالجيزة عبر تفريغ كاميرات المراقبة المحيطة بالعقار وتتبع الهواتف في تحديد هويتيهما بدقة بالغة.

ونجحت الأكمنة الأمنية في الإطاحة بالشابين وبحوزتهما المبالغ المسروقة قبل إنفاقها، ليصدر قاضي المعارضات قراراً عاجلاً بحبسهما 15 يوماً على ذمة التحقيقات تمهيداً لإحالتهما للجنايات، بعد أن تحولت «الصداقة» إلى خيانة وثّقتها شاشات المراقبة.

But the bigger shock revealed by the prosecution's investigations is that the perpetrators are not strangers, but rather close family friends!

The story began when the son of the late official's wife decided to share footage from his vacation abroad with his friends on social media, unaware that there were eyes lurking to arrange the moment of the crime.

Two young men exploited the "story" and posts that confirmed their friend's complete absence from Egypt to ensure that the apartment was entirely free from any surveillance. In the darkness of night, the two friends devised their plan, taking advantage of their prior knowledge of the building's entrance:

• The first: quietly sneaked through the building's "light well" window until he entered the apartment, heading straight to the bedroom to open the closet and seize a bag containing half a million pounds.
• The second: stood below, monitoring the road to secure a quick escape.

After the operation was completed, the thieves believed their digital plan had succeeded, but the joy did not last long. As soon as the incident was discovered, the Egyptian security sector in Giza succeeded in identifying their identities with remarkable accuracy by reviewing the surveillance cameras surrounding the property and tracking their phones.

The security ambushes successfully apprehended the two young men with the stolen amounts before they could spend them, leading a judge to issue an urgent decision to detain them for 15 days pending investigations, preparing to refer them to the criminal court, after "friendship" turned into betrayal documented by the surveillance cameras.
