تشارك المملكة، ممثلةً بالهيئة السعودية للملكية الفكرية، في سلسلة اجتماعات جمعيات الدول الأعضاء الثامنة والستين في المنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية (الويبو)، المقامة في مقرها بمدينة جنيف خلال شهر يوليو من العام الحالي، وذلك بوفد يرأسه الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة الدكتور عبدالعزيز بن محمد السويلم، وبمشاركة عدد من مسؤولي الهيئة.
وتأتي مشاركة هذا العام بعد تحقيق الهيئة عددًا من المنجزات على الصعيد الدولي، من خلال تعزيز حضورها في اللجان والجمعيات المختلفة، إلى جانب تحضيراتها لتنفيذ عدد من الفعاليات الجانبية لتعزيز حضورها الدولي خلال اجتماعات الجمعية العمومية، بما يعكس دور المملكة في تعزيز التعاون الدولي وقيادته.
وخلال كلمة المملكة التي ألقاها الرئيس التنفيذي للهيئة الدكتور عبدالعزيز بن محمد السويلم، سُلِّط الضوء على القفزات التشريعية والتشغيلية التي حققتها منظومة الملكية الفكرية في المملكة، من بينها اعتماد نظام حماية المؤشرات الجغرافية، وتحديث نظام حق المؤلف لمواكبة عصر الذكاء الاصطناعي والاقتصاد الرقمي، وقد أثمرت هذه الجهود عن قفزة في مؤشرات الأداء، إذ نمت طلبات براءات الاختراع بنسبة (28%)، والعلامات التجارية بنسبة (23%)، مع تحقيق الهيئة نسبة (98.4%) في مؤشر الجودة الشاملة.
كما ركزت المملكة خلال كلمتها على الانضمام إلى المعاهدات، بإيداع صكوك الانضمام إلى (معاهدة الرياض لقانون التصاميم) و(بروتوكول مدريد)، إضافة إلى إطلاق مبادرة نوعية بعنوان «الملكية الفكرية والرياضة»، بالتعاون مع المنظمة العالمية للملكية الفكرية، لدعم الاستثمار الرياضي، واستمرار دعم الدول النامية عبر الصندوق الاستئماني السعودي (SAFIT)، إلى جانب احتفاء المملكة بالفاحصين في (11) نوفمبر، في مبادرة تزامنت مع إصدار دليل استرشادي لأخلاقيات مهنة الفاحصين.
وتحرص الهيئة السعودية للملكية الفكرية، من خلال عضويتها في المنظمة ومشاركتها السنوية، على التواجد في قلب الحدث الدولي؛ لمواكبة أحدث الممارسات والتشريعات، بما ينعكس إيجابًا على تطوير بيئة الابتكار والإبداع الوطنية.
The Kingdom, represented by the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property, is participating in a series of meetings of the 68th Assemblies of the Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), held at its headquarters in Geneva during July of this year, with a delegation headed by the Authority's CEO, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Suwailem, and the participation of several officials from the Authority.
This year's participation comes after the Authority has achieved a number of accomplishments on the international level, by enhancing its presence in various committees and assemblies, in addition to its preparations to implement several side events to strengthen its international presence during the General Assembly meetings, reflecting the Kingdom's role in promoting and leading international cooperation.
During the Kingdom's speech delivered by the CEO of the Authority, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Suwailem, the legislative and operational leaps achieved by the intellectual property system in the Kingdom were highlighted, including the adoption of the Geographical Indications Protection System and the updating of the Copyright System to keep pace with the era of artificial intelligence and the digital economy. These efforts have resulted in a leap in performance indicators, with patent applications growing by (28%) and trademarks by (23%), while the Authority achieved a (98.4%) in the total quality index.
The Kingdom also focused during its speech on joining treaties, by depositing the instruments of accession to the (Riyadh Treaty on Design Law) and the (Madrid Protocol), in addition to launching a qualitative initiative titled "Intellectual Property and Sports," in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization, to support sports investment, and to continue supporting developing countries through the Saudi Trust Fund (SAFIT), along with the Kingdom's celebration of examiners on November 11, in an initiative coinciding with the issuance of a guideline for the ethics of the examination profession.
The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property is keen, through its membership in the organization and its annual participation, to be at the heart of the international event; to keep up with the latest practices and legislations, positively reflecting on the development of the national innovation and creativity environment.
