تعلق بغداد أهمية كبيرة على زيارة رئيس الوزراء العراقي علي الزيدي التي تبدأ غداً (الإثنين)، إلى واشنطن، واجتماعه مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب ومسؤولين في البيت الأبيض.
وأكد المتحدث باسم الحكومة العراقية حيدر العبودي، في مؤتمر صحفي، اليوم (الأحد)، أن زيارة الزيدي إلى الولايات المتحدة تمثل تجسيداً لتطوير العلاقات الخارجية المتوازنة التي تقوم على المصالح المشتركة.
وأشار إلى أن مذكرات التفاهم التي ستوقع بين العراق والولايات المتحدة ستتضمن مجالات النفط والغاز وإدخال الشركات الأمريكية المتخصصة التي ستوفر رفع مستوى الطاقة الإنتاجية وإيجاد منافذ تقلل من تأثيرات مضيق هرمز.
وقال العبودي إن زيارة الولايات المتحدة تأتي تجسيداً للمنهاج الوزاري للحكومة من أجل توطيد العلاقة مع واشنطن، لافتاً إلى أن المباحثات ستركز على ملفات مهمة أبرزها تطوير العلاقات الاقتصادية والاستثمارية.
وأضاف أن الزيدي سيعقد لقاءً مهماً مع الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب وكبار المسؤولين في الولايات المتحدة، مشيراً إلى أن هناك لقاءات مع مؤسسات وشركات اقتصادية ومالية لتفعيل أفق التعاون والحوار بما ينسجم مع مصالح العراق.
وكشف المتحدث باسم الحكومة أن العراق يستعد لإدخال شركات أمريكية متخصصة في مجال النفط والطاقة ما يعزز زيادة ورفع إنتاج النفط العراقي، مؤكداً أن الملف النفطي يحظى بالأولوية الخاصة في هذه الزيارة. وأعلن أن هناك استثمارات واتفاقات مهمة ستوقع خلال زيارة الزيدي إلى واشنطن، وستعلن من هناك، وأهمها في مجال النفط والطاقة.
ولفت إلى أن زيارة الزيدي إلى واشنطن تختلف عن الزيارات السابقة، وتركز على الاقتصاد وستكون هناك مذكرات تفاهم بين الصندوق العراقي والأمريكي للتنمية والطاقة.
وتوقع أن تنتقل العلاقات بين العراق والولايات المتحدة من إدارة الأزمات إلى شراكة اقتصادية طويلة الأمد.
ولفت إلى أن صندوق التنمية سيكون على طاولة الاتفاق من خلال التنسيق المشترك، إذ إن العراق سيودع كميات محدودة من الصادرات النفطية مقابل الخدمات التي ستقدمها الشركات الأمريكية لإنعاش متطلبات التنمية في العراق.

He added that Al-Zaydi will hold an important meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump and senior officials in the United States, indicating that there will be meetings with economic and financial institutions and companies to activate the prospects for cooperation and dialogue in line with Iraq's interests.
The government spokesperson revealed that Iraq is preparing to introduce specialized American companies in the field of oil and energy, which will enhance and increase Iraqi oil production, emphasizing that the oil file has a special priority in this visit. He announced that there are important investments and agreements that will be signed during Al-Zaydi's visit to Washington, which will be announced from there, the most significant of which are in the field of oil and energy.
He noted that Al-Zaydi's visit to Washington differs from previous visits, focusing on the economy, and there will be memorandums of understanding between the Iraqi and American funds for development and energy.
He expected that relations between Iraq and the United States would shift from crisis management to a long-term economic partnership.
He pointed out that the development fund will be on the table for agreement through joint coordination, as Iraq will deposit limited quantities of oil exports in exchange for the services that American companies will provide to revitalize development requirements in Iraq.
