فجّرت تصريحات وُصفت بأنها «عنصرية» أطلقتها نائبة حاكم مقاطعة مندوسا الأرجنتينية، هيبي كاسادو، أزمة دبلوماسية بين فرنسا والأرجنتين، بعدما قررت السفارة الفرنسية في بوينوس أيرس اعتبارها «شخصاً غير مرغوب فيه»، على خلفية وصفها المنتخب الفرنسي لكرة القدم بأنه «منتخب إفريقي بلا أدب».

وجاءت الأزمة بعدما نشرت كاسادو، عبر منصة «إكس»، تعليقاً عقب مباراة فرنسا وباراغواي في كأس العالم 2026، قالت فيه: «أحسنت يا باراغواي.. المنتخب الأفريقي بلا أي أدب. لا يمكنني أن أتحمل كيليان مبابي».

وأثارت التصريحات رد فعل غاضباً من الجانب الفرنسي، إذ أكد السفير الفرنسي لدى الأرجنتين، رومان نادال، أن ما صدر عن المسؤولة الأرجنتينية يحمل «طابعاً عنصرياً لا شك فيه»، مشدداً على أنه «لا مكان للعنصرية في التعاون الفرنسي-الأرجنتيني».

وأوضح السفير، في تصريحات لوكالة فرانس برس، أنه أبلغ كاسادو رسمياً بأنها أصبحت «شخصاً غير مرغوب فيه» داخل السفارة الفرنسية، كما أصدر تعليمات بعدم مشاركة ممثلي السفارة في أي اجتماعات تعاون مع سلطات مقاطعة مندوسا إذا كانت حاضرة، ما لم تتراجع عن تصريحاتها.

وأضاف نادال: «نحن فخورون بتنوعنا، ولن نتسامح مع أي محاولة للانتقاص من جنسية لاعبينا أو التشكيك فيها. كيف يمكن لمسؤولة عامة في بلد يفخر باستقبال المهاجرين أن تنتقد منتخباً يضم لاعبين يمثلون أيضاً ثمرة الهجرة؟»

من جانبها، دافعت كاسادو عن نفسها، معتبرة أن تصريحاتها جاءت في إطار «السخرية» و«الفلكلور الكروي»، وكتبت على منصة «إكس» أن «الأشخاص الأذكياء فقط هم من يفهمون السخرية»، كما سخرت من الانتقادات الموجهة إليها، معتبرة أن وصف المنتخب الفرنسي بأنه «منتخب أفريقي» يعكس ما «يفكر فيه الجميع»، على حد تعبيرها.

وتحولت القضية إلى محور اهتمام إعلامي واسع، خصوصاً أنها جاءت بعد موجة انتقادات أخرى طالت السيناتور الباراغويانية سيليستي أماريا بسبب تصريحات مسيئة بحق قائد المنتخب الفرنسي كيليان مبابي عقب مواجهة فرنسا وباراغواي في المونديال.

وليست هذه المرة الأولى التي يثير فيها المنتخب الفرنسي جدلاً بسبب أصول عدد كبير من لاعبيه المنحدرين من عائلات مهاجرة، إذ سبق أن واجهت فرنسا خلال السنوات الماضية تعليقات مشابهة اعتبرتها باريس ذات طابع عنصري وتمييزي، مؤكدة أن لاعبي المنتخب يحملون الجنسية الفرنسية ويمثلون الدولة دون تمييز على أساس الأصل أو العرق.

ويضم المنتخب الفرنسي عدداً من اللاعبين المنحدرين من أصول أفريقية أو كاريبية، بينهم القائد كيليان مبابي، وهو ما تعتبره فرنسا انعكاساً لتنوع المجتمع الفرنسي، بينما تؤكد المؤسسات الرسمية أن أي تشكيك في هوية هؤلاء اللاعبين أو انتمائهم الوطني يمثل خطاباً تمييزياً يتعارض مع مبادئ المساواة ومناهضة العنصرية.

Statements described as "racist" made by the Deputy Governor of Mendoza Province in Argentina, Hebe Casado, have sparked a diplomatic crisis between France and Argentina, after the French embassy in Buenos Aires decided to declare her a "persona non grata," following her description of the French national football team as an "ill-mannered African team."

The crisis arose after Casado posted a comment on the platform "X" following the match between France and Paraguay in the 2026 World Cup, stating: "Well done, Paraguay.. the ill-mannered African team. I can't stand Kylian Mbappé."

The remarks provoked an angry reaction from the French side, with the French ambassador to Argentina, Romain Nadal, confirming that the comments made by the Argentine official carry "a clearly racist tone," emphasizing that "there is no place for racism in French-Argentine cooperation."

The ambassador explained in statements to Agence France-Presse that he officially informed Casado that she had become a "persona non grata" within the French embassy, and he issued instructions to refrain from having embassy representatives participate in any cooperation meetings with the authorities of Mendoza Province if she was present, unless she retracted her statements.

Nadal added: "we are proud of our diversity, and we will not tolerate any attempt to belittle the nationality of our players or question it. How can a public official in a country that prides itself on welcoming immigrants criticize a team that includes players who also represent the fruit of immigration?"

For her part, Casado defended herself, considering that her remarks were made in the context of "sarcasm" and "football folklore," writing on the platform "X" that "only smart people understand sarcasm," and she mocked the criticisms directed at her, asserting that describing the French team as an "African team" reflects what "everyone thinks," in her words.

The issue has become a focal point of extensive media attention, especially as it follows another wave of criticism directed at Paraguayan Senator Celeste Amaria for offensive remarks about the French team captain Kylian Mbappé after the match between France and Paraguay in the World Cup.

This is not the first time that the French team has stirred controversy due to the origins of many of its players from immigrant families, as France has faced similar comments in recent years that Paris considered to be racist and discriminatory, affirming that the players of the national team hold French citizenship and represent the country without discrimination based on origin or race.

The French team includes several players of African or Caribbean descent, including captain Kylian Mbappé, which France views as a reflection of the diversity of French society, while official institutions assert that any questioning of these players' identity or national belonging represents a discriminatory discourse that contradicts the principles of equality and anti-racism.
