استدعت الحكومة الهندية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، نائب السفير الإيراني لدى نيودلهي، محمد جواد حسيني، إلى مقر وزارة الشؤون الخارجية، بسبب الهجوم الصاروخي الذي استهدف ناقلتين إماراتيتين في مضيق هرمز، وأسفر عن مقتل أحد أفراد الطاقم من الجنسية الهندية وإصابة ثمانية آخرين، وفقًا لمصادر حكومية هندية.
وبحسب موقع indiatoday، جاء التحرك الدبلوماسي بعد يوم من إعلان دولة الإمارات أن صاروخين كروز إيرانيين أصابا ناقلتي النفط «مومباسا» و«البهية» أثناء إبحارهما في الممر الملاحي الجنوبي لمضيق هرمز داخل المياه الإقليمية العُمانية، ما أدى إلى اندلاع حرائق في السفينتين.
وذكرت السلطات الإماراتية أن الهجوم أسفر عن مقتل بحار هندي وإصابة ثمانية من أفراد الطاقم، بينهم ستة هنود وأوكرانيان، فيما لا يزال أربعة من المصابين في حالة حرجة.
وبحسب المصادر، فإن استدعاء نائب رئيس البعثة الإيرانية وعدد من الدبلوماسيين جاء بعد أن أعربت نيودلهي عن قلقها البالغ إزاء الهجوم، وطالبت طهران بتقديم توضيحات وضمانات بشأن سلامة الملاحة في المياه الإقليمية العُمانية بمضيق هرمز.
وأكّدت وزارة الشؤون الخارجية الهندية، في بيان، أن تكرار استهداف السفن التجارية والبنية التحتية المدنية في المنطقة يثير «قلقًا بالغًا»، داعية إلى خفض التصعيد بشكل فوري واستكمال الجهود الدبلوماسية الجارية للتوصل إلى حل سياسي يعيد الأمن والاستقرار إلى المنطقة.
وشددت الوزارة على ضرورة وقف استهداف السفن التجارية والمنشآت المدنية، وضمان حرية الملاحة والتجارة عبر الممرات المائية الدولية وفقًا لأحكام القانون الدولي، بما يكفل استعادة الحركة البحرية الطبيعية في أقرب وقت.
من جانبها، وصفت الإمارات الهجوم بأنه «انتهاك صارخ للقانون الدولي»، مؤكدة أن الصاروخين اللذين أطلقتهما إيران تسببا في اشتعال النيران في الناقلتين وإيقاع خسائر بشرية بين أفراد الطاقم.
ويأتي هذا التطور في وقت يشهد فيه مضيق هرمز حالة من التوتر المتصاعد، وسط تنافس إقليمي ودولي على تأمين أحد أهم الممرات البحرية لنقل الطاقة عالميًا.
وفي هذا السياق، طرح الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب مبادرة تقضي بتوفير حماية أمريكية للسفن العابرة للمضيق مقابل رسم يعادل 20%، إلا أن إيران رفضت المقترح، مؤكدة أن المضيق يخضع لسيادتها ولن تفرض مثل هذه الرسوم على السفن المارة.
The Indian government summoned the Iranian Deputy Ambassador to New Delhi, Mohammad Javad Hosseini, to the Ministry of External Affairs today (Tuesday) due to the missile attack that targeted two Emirati tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in the death of one crew member of Indian nationality and injuring eight others, according to Indian government sources.
According to indiatoday, the diplomatic move came a day after the United Arab Emirates announced that two Iranian cruise missiles hit the oil tankers "Mombasa" and "Al-Bahiyah" while they were sailing in the southern shipping lane of the Strait of Hormuz within Omani territorial waters, leading to fires on both vessels.
The Emirati authorities reported that the attack resulted in the death of an Indian sailor and injuries to eight crew members, including six Indians and two Ukrainians, while four of the injured remain in critical condition.
According to sources, the summoning of the Iranian Deputy Head of Mission and several diplomats came after New Delhi expressed its deep concern over the attack and demanded Tehran provide clarifications and guarantees regarding the safety of navigation in Omani territorial waters in the Strait of Hormuz.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs confirmed in a statement that the repeated targeting of commercial vessels and civilian infrastructure in the region raises "serious concern," calling for an immediate de-escalation and the continuation of ongoing diplomatic efforts to reach a political solution that restores security and stability to the region.
The ministry emphasized the necessity of stopping the targeting of commercial vessels and civilian facilities, ensuring freedom of navigation and trade through international waterways in accordance with international law, which guarantees the restoration of normal maritime traffic as soon as possible.
For its part, the UAE described the attack as "a blatant violation of international law," confirming that the two missiles launched by Iran caused fires on the tankers and resulted in human casualties among the crew members.
This development comes at a time when the Strait of Hormuz is experiencing rising tensions, amid regional and international competition to secure one of the most important maritime routes for global energy transport.
In this context, U.S. President Donald Trump proposed an initiative to provide American protection for ships transiting the strait in exchange for a fee equivalent to 20%, but Iran rejected the proposal, asserting that the strait is under its sovereignty and that it will not impose such fees on passing vessels.
