على الرغم من إعلان واشنطن وطهران رسميا التخلي عن مذكرة التفاهم، كشفت إيران اليوم (الإثنين) أن الاتصالات الدبلوماسية مع واشنطن عبر وسطاء ما زالت متواصلة.
وأكد المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية إسماعيل بقائي أن طهران ستواصل مساري الحرب والدبلوماسية بما يراعي مصالحها الوطنية.
وحول ما إذا كان باب الحوار مع الولايات المتحدة أصبح مغلقًا، قال بقائي: «أرفض ثنائية إما الحرب أو الدبلوماسية، فالدبلوماسية أداة نسعى من خلالها لتحقيق مصالحنا الوطنية، شأنها شأن الحرب».
وأضاف في مؤتمر صحفي في طهران «لقد أُبلغنا عبر وسطاء، وتلقينا رسائل خلال الأيام الماضية، دون الخوض في التفاصيل، لكن المهم أن الجهاز الدبلوماسي كان نشطًا في الأيام الأخيرة، وقد نُقلت إلينا أفكار عبر بعض الوسطاء».
وبشأن الأمريكية من أصل إيراني التي أعلن إطلاق سراحها من سجن إيراني، أوضح بقائي أنها لم تكن سجينة أو تواجه تهما تتعلق بالتجسس.
من جانبها، أعلنت القيادة المركزية الأمريكية «سنتكوم»، أن الجيش الأمريكي أكمل تاسع جولة على التوالي من الضربات ضد إيران، مستهدفًا منشآت المراقبة الساحلية والدفاع الجوي العسكرية الإيرانية.
وأشارت في منشور على «إكس» إلى أن الضربات استهدفت مراكز القيادة العسكرية الإيرانية ومواقع الدفاع الجوي والمراقبة الساحلية والقدرات البحرية ومواقع إطلاق الصواريخ والطائرات المسيرة وشبكات الاتصالات، وذلك «بهدف زيادة تقويض قدرة إيران على مهاجمة السفن التجارية والبحارة المدنيين العابرين لمضيق هرمز».
ولم ترد على الفور أنباء من إيران بشأن وقوع أي ضحايا أو أضرار جراء الهجمات الأمريكية.
وكان الجيش الأمريكي أعلن ليل (الأحد-الإثنين) أنه بدأ بتنفيذ موجة جديدة من الضربات ضد إيران لليلة التاسعة تواليًا. وقالت القيادة المركزية في بيان: «ستواصل هذه الضربات تقويض القدرات العسكرية الإيرانية المستخدمة في مهاجمة السفن التجارية والبحارة المدنيين العابرين لمضيق هرمز».
فيما أفادت وسائل إعلام إيرانية بورود أنباء عن ضربات أمريكية على مدينة تبريز، وسماع دوي انفجارات في بندر ماهشهر وبندر إمام خميني في جنوب غربي إيران. وأكدت وكالة مهر بتفعيل أنظمة الدفاع الجوي في كنارك وبسماع دوي انفجارات في مدينة جابهار بجنوب شرقي إيران.
وبحسب وزارة الصحة الإيرانية، أسفرت الضربات الأمريكية منذ 27 يونيو عن مقتل 50 شخصًا على الأقل وإصابة أكثر من 500.
Despite Washington and Tehran officially announcing the abandonment of the memorandum of understanding, Iran revealed today (Monday) that diplomatic communications with Washington through intermediaries are still ongoing.
The spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ismail Baqaei, confirmed that Tehran will continue its paths of war and diplomacy while considering its national interests.
Regarding whether the door for dialogue with the United States has been closed, Baqaei said: "I reject the binary of either war or diplomacy; diplomacy is a tool through which we seek to achieve our national interests, just like war."
He added in a press conference in Tehran, "We have been informed through intermediaries, and we have received messages in recent days, without going into details, but what is important is that the diplomatic apparatus has been active in recent days, and ideas have been conveyed to us through some intermediaries."
Regarding the American of Iranian descent who was announced to be released from an Iranian prison, Baqaei clarified that she was not a prisoner or facing charges related to espionage.
For its part, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that the U.S. military has completed its ninth consecutive round of strikes against Iran, targeting Iranian military coastal surveillance and air defense facilities.
It indicated in a post on "X" that the strikes targeted Iranian military command centers, air defense sites, coastal surveillance, naval capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and communication networks, with the aim of "further undermining Iran's ability to attack commercial ships and civilian sailors transiting the Strait of Hormuz."
No immediate reports have come from Iran regarding any casualties or damage resulting from the American attacks.
The U.S. military announced late (Sunday-Monday) that it had begun implementing a new wave of strikes against Iran for the ninth consecutive night. CENTCOM stated in a statement: "These strikes will continue to undermine Iranian military capabilities used to attack commercial ships and civilian sailors transiting the Strait of Hormuz."
Meanwhile, Iranian media reported news of American strikes on the city of Tabriz, and the sound of explosions was heard in Bandar Mahshahr and Bandar Imam Khomeini in southwestern Iran. The Mehr news agency confirmed the activation of air defense systems in Konarak and reported hearing explosions in the city of Chabahar in southeastern Iran.
According to the Iranian Ministry of Health, the American strikes since June 27 have resulted in at least 50 deaths and over 500 injuries.
