ألقى الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب أطول خطاب لحالة الاتحاد في تاريخ الولايات المتحدة، مستغرقًا ساعة و47 دقيقة، في كلمة طغى عليها الملف الاقتصادي، وذلك في توقيت سياسي حساس مع اقتراب انتخابات التجديد النصفي وتراجع معدلات تأييده.
وأكد ترمب أن الولايات المتحدة حققت ما وصفه بـ«تحول للأجيال»، وذلك خلال أول خطاب رسمي لحالة الاتحاد في ولايته الثانية، والذي دخل التاريخ كأطول خطاب رئاسي أمام الكونغرس في العصر الحديث.
وقال: «بعد عام واحد فقط، أستطيع أن أقول بكل كرامة وفخر إننا أنجزنا تحولاً لم يشهده أحد من قبل».
«عصر ذهبي» في ظل تحديات سياسية
وفي خطابه أمام الكونغرس داخل مبنى الكابيتول، تحدث ترمب بإسهاب عن ما وصفه بـ«العصر الذهبي لأمريكا»، مؤكدًا أنه نجح في خفض التضخم، وتحقيق مستويات قياسية في سوق الأسهم، وإقرار تخفيضات ضريبية واسعة، إضافة إلى خفض أسعار الأدوية.
غير أن الخطاب جاء وسط أجواء سياسية مشحونة، في ظل استطلاعات رأي أظهرت تراجع شعبيته إلى نحو 40% وفق أحدث استطلاع لـ«رويترز وإبسوس»، مع تصاعد المخاوف بشأن سياساته الجمركية بعد أن أبطلت المحكمة العليا معظم ضرائب الاستيراد التي فرضها.
ورغم تركيز إدارته في عامها الأول على السياسة الخارجية، لم تحظَ الملفات الدولية بحيز كبير في الساعة الأولى من الخطاب، إذ لم يتطرق إلى إيران إلا بعد مرور نحو 90 دقيقة، مؤكدًا أنه لن يسمح لطهران بامتلاك سلاح نووي، دون أن يكشف عن توجه واضح بشأن عمل عسكري محتمل.

Trump asserted that the United States has achieved what he described as a "generational transformation," during his first official State of the Union address in his second term, which entered the history books as the longest presidential speech before Congress in modern times.
He said, "After just one year, I can say with dignity and pride that we have accomplished a transformation like no one has ever seen before."
A "Golden Age" Amid Political Challenges
In his speech before Congress inside the Capitol building, Trump spoke at length about what he called the "golden age of America," asserting that he has succeeded in reducing inflation, achieving record levels in the stock market, and enacting wide-ranging tax cuts, in addition to lowering drug prices.
However, the speech came amid a charged political atmosphere, with polls showing his popularity has dropped to around 40% according to the latest "Reuters/Ipsos" survey, alongside rising concerns about his trade policies after the Supreme Court struck down most of the import taxes he imposed.
