قال وزير الحرب الأمريكي بيت هيغسيث، إن القدرات العسكرية لإيران تراجعت بشكل كبير نتيجة الضربات التي تنفذها الولايات المتحدة ضمن الحملة العسكرية التي تقودها إدارة الرئيس دونالد ترمب ضد طهران.
وفي مؤتمر صحفي عقد في مقر "البنتاغون"، أكد هيغسيث أن حجم الصواريخ الإيرانية انخفض بنحو 90%، في حين تراجعت هجمات الطائرات المسيّرة الانتحارية بنسبة 95% خلال اليوم السابق، مشيراً إلى أن إيران لم تعد تمتلك القدرة على إنتاج المزيد من الأسلحة في الوقت الحالي.
استهداف خطوط الإنتاج العسكرية
وأضاف أن الضربات الأمريكية استهدفت خطوط الإنتاج العسكرية والمنشآت الدفاعية ومراكز الابتكار العسكري في إيران، مؤكداً أن هذه القدرات "تم القضاء عليها إلى حد كبير".
وأشار وزير الدفاع الأمريكي إلى أن القيادة الإيرانية تعاني أيضاً من ضغوط شديدة، قائلاً: «بعض قياداتها اختبأت تحت الأرض في حالة من اليأس، مثل الفئران» - على حد وصفه -.
عمليات واسعة ضد أهداف إيرانية
من جانبه، قال رئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة الأمريكية دان كاين، إن القوات الأمريكية نفذت ضربات على نحو 6 آلاف هدف داخل إيران منذ بدء العمليات، مشيراً إلى أن القوة البحرية الإيرانية أصبحت «غير فعالة إلى حد كبير».
وأوضح أن القوات الأمريكية تركز بشكل خاص على استهداف قدرات إيران المتعلقة بزرع الألغام البحرية، في إشارة إلى المخاوف المرتبطة بأمن الملاحة في مضيق هرمز، الممر البحري الذي يمر عبره نحو خمس إمدادات النفط العالمية.
ورغم ذلك، أشار كين إلى أن إيران ما زالت تمتلك بعض القدرات التي قد تمكّنها من تهديد القوات الصديقة أو السفن التجارية.
الجدل حول ألغام مضيق هرمز
وفي سياق متصل، نفى هيغسيث وجود أدلة واضحة على قيام إيران بزرع ألغام في مضيق هرمز، رغم تقارير إعلامية تحدثت في وقت سابق عن نشر طهران نحو 12 لغماً في الممر البحري الاستراتيجي.
وقال إن الولايات المتحدة تملك خططاً للتعامل مع جميع السيناريوهات، مؤكداً أن واشنطن لن تسمح ببقاء المضيق منطقة نزاع تعطل حركة الملاحة.
تحقيق في ضربة استهدفت مدرسة
وفي رده على تقارير تحدثت عن غارة جوية أصابت مدرسة للبنات وأسفرت عن مقتل 175 شخصاً، معظمهم من الأطفال، قال وزير الدفاع الأمريكي إن القيادة المركزية الأمريكية بدأت تحقيقاً في الحادثة.
وأضاف أن تعيين ضابط مستقل للتحقيق لا يعني تأكيد صحة التقارير، مؤكداً أن الجيش الأمريكي لا يستهدف المدنيين، على حد قوله.
إصابة مجتبى خامنئي وتعرضه للتشوه
كما شكك هيغسيث، في شرعية بيان المرشد الأعلى الإيراني الجديد مجتبى خامنئي، الذي أصدر بياناً مكتوباً يدعو إلى الوحدة دون صوت أو فيديو، قائلاً إن المعلومات المتوافرة تشير إلى أنه مصاب بجروح وربما تعرض لتشوه.
وقال: «أعتقد أنكم تعرفون السبب»، كما انتقد عناوين إعلامية لا تعكس نجاح أمريكا - على حد قوله -، مؤكداً أن «الجمعة ستشهد أعلى عدد من الضربات الأمريكية حتى الآن».
وفي ختام المؤتمر، شدد وزير الدفاع الأمريكي على أن نجاح العمليات العسكرية سيقاس بمدى تحقيق الأهداف التي حددتها الإدارة الأمريكية، مؤكداً أن القرار النهائي بشأن مدة استمرار الحملة يعود إلى الرئيس ترمب.
هجوم إسرائيلي على لبنان
وفي تطور آخر، أقرت إسرائيل بضرب جسر زرارية فوق نهر الليطاني في لبنان، وهو أول اعتراف بهجوم على بنية تحتية مدنية منذ بدء الصراع، وقال وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي يسرائيل كاتز: «الحكومة اللبنانية ستدفع تكاليف متزايدة من خلال تلف البنية التحتية وفقدان الأراضي حتى نزع سلاح حزب الله، هذا مجرد البداية».

He explained that U.S. forces are particularly focused on targeting Iran's capabilities related to laying naval mines, referring to concerns related to navigation security in the Strait of Hormuz, the maritime passage through which about one-fifth of global oil supplies pass.
Despite this, Kaine noted that Iran still possesses some capabilities that could enable it to threaten friendly forces or commercial ships.

In a related context, Hegseth denied the existence of clear evidence that Iran has laid mines in the Strait of Hormuz, despite earlier media reports about Tehran deploying around 12 mines in the strategic maritime passage.
He stated that the United States has plans to deal with all scenarios, emphasizing that Washington will not allow the strait to remain a conflict zone that disrupts navigation.
Investigation into Strike Targeting a School
In response to reports about an airstrike that hit a girls' school and resulted in the deaths of 175 people, most of whom were children, the U.S. Secretary of Defense stated that the U.S. Central Command has begun an investigation into the incident.
He added that appointing an independent officer to investigate does not confirm the accuracy of the reports, asserting that the U.S. military does not target civilians, according to him.
Injury and Disfigurement of Mojtaba Khamenei
Hegseth also questioned the legitimacy of the statement from the new Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, who issued a written statement calling for unity without audio or video, saying that available information indicates he is injured and may have suffered disfigurement.
He said: “I think you know the reason,” and criticized media headlines that do not reflect America's success - as he put it - emphasizing that “Friday will witness the highest number of U.S. strikes to date.”
At the end of the conference, the U.S. Secretary of Defense stressed that the success of military operations will be measured by the extent to which the objectives set by the U.S. administration are achieved, confirming that the final decision regarding the duration of the campaign rests with President Trump.
Israeli Attack on Lebanon
In another development, Israel acknowledged striking the Zahrani Bridge over the Litani River in Lebanon, marking the first acknowledgment of an attack on civilian infrastructure since the conflict began. Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz stated: “The Lebanese government will pay increasing costs through damage to infrastructure and loss of territory until Hezbollah is disarmed; this is just the beginning.”
