أعلنت السفارة الأمريكية في إسرائيل، اليوم (الجمعة)، أن الولايات المتحدة أذنت بمغادرة بعض موظفي السفارة وعائلاتهم من إسرائيل بسبب مخاطر أمنية، وسط تصاعد فرص توجيه ضربة عسكرية أمريكية إلى إيران.
وأضافت السفارة في منشور على منصة «إكس»، أنها قد تفرض مزيداً من القيود على سفر موظفي الحكومة الأمريكية وعائلاتهم إلى مناطق معينة في إسرائيل والبلدة القديمة في القدس والضفة الغربية دون إشعار مسبق، ونصحت المواطنين الأمريكيين بالنظر في مغادرة إسرائيل، بينما لا تزال الرحلات الجوية التجارية متاحة.
وتسارعت وتيرة الحشد العسكري الأمريكي في الشرق الأوسط خلال الأسابيع الماضية، على الرغم من أن ترمب لم يشر حتى الآن إلى أنه قد اتخذ قراره بضرب إيران.
واختتمت المحادثات مع إيران في جنيف، أمس (الخميس)، دون اتفاق واضح، ولكن وسط مؤشرات على إحراز تقدم، واتفاق على عقد جولة رابعة في فيينا الأسبوع القادم.
وقال مسؤولون أمريكيون إن قائد القيادة المركزية الأدميرال براد كوبر أطلع الرئيس دونالد ترمب، على خيارات شن ضربة عسكرية ضد إيران.
وذكر المسؤولون لشبكة ABC NEWS أن رئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة الجنرال دان كين كان حاضراً في جلسة الإحاطة التي عقدت، بينما كانت تجري محادثات بين الولايات المتحدة وإيران في جنيف، بشأن البرنامجين النووي والصاروخي الباليستي لإيران.
وهذه المرة الأولى التي يقدم فيها القائد الأعلى للقوات الأمريكية بالشرق الأوسط، براد كوبر، إحاطة مباشرة لترمب منذ بداية الأزمة مع إيران في ديسمبر الماضي.
وقال نائب الرئيس الأمريكي جيه دي فانس في مقابلة مع صحيفة «واشنطن بوست»، إن الضربات العسكرية ضد إيران لا تزال قيد النظر، إلا أنه «لا احتمال للدخول في حرب مطولة في الشرق الأوسط».
وأضاف فانس أنه لا يعرف القرار الذي سيتخذه ترمب حيال إيران، لافتا إلى احتمالات تشمل تنفيذ ضربات عسكرية «لضمان ألا تحصل إيران على سلاح نووي»، أو «حل المشكلة دبلوماسياً».
وقال فانس أثناء عودته إلى واشنطن من فعالية في ولاية ويسكونسن: «لا توجد فرصة لاحتمال أن نتورط في حرب في الشرق الأوسط لسنوات من دون أفق واضح للنهاية».
ولفت فانس إلى أن الضربات على إيران في يونيو الماضي، واعتقال الرئيس الفنزويلي نيكولاس مادورو في يناير كانتا عمليتين محدودتين «بوضوح شديد».
The American embassy in Israel announced today (Friday) that the United States has authorized the departure of some embassy staff and their families from Israel due to security risks, amid rising chances of a U.S. military strike on Iran.
The embassy added in a post on the platform "X" that it may impose further restrictions on the travel of U.S. government employees and their families to certain areas in Israel, the Old City of Jerusalem, and the West Bank without prior notice, and advised American citizens to consider leaving Israel while commercial flights are still available.
The pace of U.S. military buildup in the Middle East has accelerated over the past few weeks, although Trump has not yet indicated that he has made a decision to strike Iran.
Talks with Iran in Geneva concluded yesterday (Thursday) without a clear agreement, but with indications of progress and an agreement to hold a fourth round in Vienna next week.
U.S. officials said that Central Command Chief Admiral Brad Cooper briefed President Donald Trump on options for conducting a military strike against Iran.
Officials told ABC NEWS that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Keen was present at the briefing session that took place while talks were ongoing between the U.S. and Iran in Geneva regarding Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile programs.
This is the first time that the top U.S. commander in the Middle East, Brad Cooper, has provided a direct briefing to Trump since the onset of the crisis with Iran last December.
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance said in an interview with The Washington Post that military strikes against Iran are still under consideration, but that "there is no likelihood of entering into a prolonged war in the Middle East."
Vance added that he does not know what decision Trump will make regarding Iran, noting that options include carrying out military strikes "to ensure that Iran does not acquire a nuclear weapon," or "solving the problem diplomatically."
Vance said while returning to Washington from an event in Wisconsin: "There is no chance of us getting involved in a war in the Middle East for years without a clear end in sight."
Vance pointed out that the strikes on Iran last June and the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro in January were clearly "very limited operations."
